How Does Personal Training Help?
If you're considering fitness training, or hiring one of SEMI's personal trainers to guide your fitness and exercise routine, you might fit into one or more of these groups!
The "Transition" Group:
This group is finishing a course of physiotherapy for an injury, and can benefit from some extended exercise sessions to finish off their treatment, best done in a personal training setting.
The "I Want to be Healthier" Group:
This group is seeking one or more of the following: fat loss, toning, cholesterol reduction, diabetes management, blood pressure management, improved strength, improved flexibility, better balance, a stronger core and increased coordination. You will experience increased quality of life, have more energy and you will wonder why you never tried it before!
The "I Want to be Better/Faster/Stronger" Group:
This group is looking to fitness training to help them reach the next level of performance in their chosen sport. These training programs include a solid strength and flexibility component, lots of core work, and when ready, a strong plyometric component. You will experience greater muscle elasticity, increased strength, endurance and muscular power, all key elements in the performance of any sport.
What Kind of Personal Training Equipment Does SEMI Have?
We have everything you need to get in an intense workout. We have cardio equipment like treadmills, stationary bikes and ellipticals. We also have strength training equipment that is easy to use, like Theraballs, Bosu Balls, Therabands, cords, dumbbells, and, most importantly, your own bodyweight! Towels are supplied and change rooms are onsite. We also have several specialized pieces of equipment that include Pilates Reformers, squat racks and a Biodex Isokinetic Dynamometer.

Tip of the Month
Did you know that The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that adults between the age of 18-65 should accumulate at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity 5 days a week or 20 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise 3-days a week. In addition, strength training should be included twice a week with a minimum of 8-10 exercises at 8-12 repetitions.
