Yatrika completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Science as well as certificate in Fitness Assessment and Exercise Counseling at York University. She also received her Bachelor’s in Education at York University. She then went on to obtain her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta.
As someone who has endured her fair share of injuries Yatrika understands the impact injuries have on patients. Yatrika takes a patient centered approach when it comes to therapy, and focuses on restoring optimal movement while helping patients reach their goals. She uses a variety of techniques for treatment including education, manual therapy techniques, therapeutic modalities and exercise. Yatrika’s goal as a physiotherapist is to empower patients by providing them with the knowledge and tools needed for proper recovery as well as prevent further injuries.
Yatrika has a special interest in fitness and has worked as a Certified Exercise Physiologist over the years within the community to educate people of all ages on the benefits of physical activity and injury prevention. She continues to pursue courses that allow her to increase her understanding of optimal movement and mobility. In her pursuit she has recently become certified as a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms).
In her free time she likes to do Olympic weight lifting, enjoying the outdoors, trying different foods and painting.
