Dr. Sofia Solar Cafaggi is a Sport and Exercise Medicine physician, a former competitive soccer player, and an avid sports enthusiast. She completed medical school and family medicine residency at the University of Toronto, and then pursued a fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Alberta. She has been involved with multiple sporting organizations at the local, varsity, and professional levels in both Toronto and Edmonton. She has also worked internationally with Canada Soccer as team physician for the U15 Women’s National Soccer Team.
Dr. Solar Cafaggi has a special interest in regenerative medicine and orthobiologics. She is competent in ultrasound-guided procedures, including the use of visco-supplementation and protein-rich plasma for the management of soft tissue and joint conditions.
Prior to her medical career, Dr. Solar Cafaggi worked as a management consultant in the healthcare space. She holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and a master’s degree in Translational Medicine/Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
