Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy

This technology shoots ultrasound or mechanically generated waves at injured tissue.
The literature is currently reporting anywhere from 70-90% improvements in various
conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles, Tendinopathy, Tennis Elbow Jumpers Knee,
Stress Fractures and Calcific Rotator Cuff Tendinitis. It also appears to have a role in
treating stubborn Bursitis, Trigger Points, Non Healing Ulcers, Non Unions, Morton’s Neuromas,
Scar Tissue Treatment and early Hallux Rigidus (stiff first toe). Shockwave can be a first
or second line treatment, and continues to establish itself as the last resort before surgery
in many of these conditions. Angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) in the injured tissue,
documented with good research, is thought to be a significant contributor to healing. A typical
treatment cycle requires three sessions of 2000 shocks each, done one week apart.
Local anaesthesia is not required for most patients. Many insurance companies may offer
coverage for this treatment.

I was extremely satisfied with the way I had seen everyone being treated.
Everyone like runners, armed forces personnel, hockey players, tennis players all seemed satisfied. I remember a time once when my therapist was finished with me and she had gone on to her next client who seemed agitated that her body wasn’t healing as fast as she wanted it to. I was really impressed with how she handled the situation and how she reaffirmed her to stick with the exercises she needed to do. I too was there and the doctor had given me a second opinion and a rough time of my healing process.
Overall I am extremely impressed with Toronto Semi and I would sincerely like to thank you all. Keep up the learning as you are all great teachers.
